Chief developer Alex Kent discusses the recent hardware and software changes to the SpaceNode Network that has resulted in dramatic improvements across the board. Discussion includes speeding up the network (hardware upgrades, moving to multiple web server platform, implementing load-balancing cache servers) and new features (Article Category block, Random Item block, Menu DropDown block).
In September 2009 we released version 5.0 of the software which runs the SpaceNode Network and at the time, we had created a nice to use content management system which had a similar feature set to other DIY website providers.

Yesterday, technicians installed a big update to the SpaceNode Theme System which is responsible for the look and feel of your sites. The new system allows the creation of infinite Themes for SpaceNode owners to choose for their sites. The ThemeCreator module is currently being tested by SpaceNode admins before it becomes available to premium account holders.
